1970 was a time of great change and challenges. On April 22, 1970 the first Earth Day was established that put environmental concerns on the minds of legislators and public alike. It was a day that led to the creation of the US Environmental Protection Agency. Forty one years later we still face great challenges for the environment. Earth Day 2011 is just days away.
