ISO 14001 Certification

ISO 14001 is an international standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) which establishes a framework for developing, implementing and maintaining an EMS.  It is similar to the ISO 9001 standard, but applied to the environment.  The standard provides continual improvement for environmental performance, practices, control and regulatory compliance.  It also seeks to balance a company’s environmental management with its business requirements, promoting greater interaction between a company and its “external interested parties.”

This set of services is available individually or bundled to:

1. Determine the requirements of the ISO 14001 international standard for EMS
2. Provide guidance on how to conform to these requirements
3. Train employees to audit the system to the Standard on a regularly scheduled basis
4. Prepare for the third-party certification audit for independent verification of the Standard

ISO 14001 Gap Analysis: Assists the manufacturer in identifying the level of conformance to the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems. After a walkthrough of the facility and in-depth interviews with key personnel, a Gap Analysis report is generated documenting missing elements, identifying where the company is and where they need to be for certification. Conducted by a certified Environmental Management System Auditor.

ISO 14001 Implementation Assistance: Assistance is available to assist the manufacturer in building a compliant EMS system and preparing for registration audits.

ISO 14001 Internal Auditor Training: MANTEC can assist you in the identification and training of personnel to serve as internal auditors, a key component of an ISO-conformant program.

ISO 14001 Desk Audit: When a company’s EMS is believed to meet the ISO 14001 international requirements, it should be subject to a desk audit to determine if all of the documentation is complete and conformant as required by the Standard.
